Plug-and-play, no-code teaching for your cobot + end-effector

Connect your cobot to your end-effector and start running jobs in minutes—no programming background required. The Devonics Smart Tool (powered by Fairino) is a compact, glove-friendly handheld that lets operators hand-guide the robot, set pick/place or process points, and trigger tools with just a few buttons. It’s the fastest way to move from idea to production on the factory floor.

  • Why teams choose the Smart Tool

    • No-code setup: teach points, record paths, and run jobs without a programming editor
    • One-hand control: ergonomic and glove-friendly
    • Direct I/O control: trigger vacuum, grippers, welders, dispensers, and macros
    • Fast changeovers: save/recall templates; re-teach only what changed
    • Built for factories: rugged housing, status LED, positive-feel keys

    What it does

Guide the cobot by hand to a position

Press to record a pose or continuous path

Trigger the tool via I/O or mapped macro

Run in Auto or step in Manual; Undo/Delete as needed

    Front-panel controls

    • START – begin program/sequence
    • A/M (Auto/Manual) – switch modes instantly
    • I/O – fire end-effector or call a macro
    • UNDO / DELETE – quick edits without menus
    • Five hotkeys (A–E) – assign to actions like “Open/Close,” “Vacuum On,” “Save Point,” “Start Path,” “Apply Seal”

Operators can load parts, reposition the arm, and update programs on the line—no laptop, no downtime.

    Perfect for

    • Pick & Place / Kitting – quick point updates when packaging changes
    • Welding / Gluing / Sealing / Painting – record smooth, continuous paths
    • Sanding / Polishing / Deburring – pair with a torque sensor for consistent force
    • Machine tending – re-teach door positions and pick offsets in minutes

    Works seamlessly with

    • Fairino FR seriescobots (FR3 / FR5 / FR10 / FR16 / FR20 / FR30)
    • End-effectors: DH Robotics grippers, Devonics vacuum tooling, weld/dispense tools, and most 24 V actuators
    • Vision/sensors: call I/O macros to sync with smart cameras, barcode reads, and presence sensors

    Installation & wiring

    • Plug-and-play cable to the cobot controller
    • Integrated status LED for power/mode feedback
    • Map the I/Obutton and hotkeys A–E to your most used actions
    • Optional mount clip to dock the tool on the cell

    Operator workflow examples

    • Packaging changeover: move to new box size → record → test in Manual → switch to Auto
    • Sealant tweak: nudge corners → Undo a point → re-record → save
    • Sanding force adjust: start path, verify torque on HMI, map A to “Vacuum On,” B to “Path Start”

    FAQ

Do I need to write code?

No. Teaching points, paths, and tool triggers are button-driven.

Will it work with my EOAT?

If your tool accepts standard 24 V I/O (most do), yes. Templates provided for DH grippers and Devonics vacuum kits.

    How long does training take?

Most operators are productive the same day—often within an hour.

Can I save and reuse programs?

Yes. Save point lists and recipes; hotkeys can recall them for rapid changeovers.
